Next in our Spotlight Series – Senior Recruiter Lansing is Laura Skowronek. Laura grew up in Alpena Michigan and then made the move to Lansing 5 years ago with her husband Jeramie. She is celebrating her 6th year with Cardinal Staffing Services.
Pre-Cardinal Years
While attending Northwood University in Alpena, Laura worked as a bartender. She credits her listening skills, wit, humor, and work ethic to bartending! She left that career behind to utilize her degree in business administration. Laura’s recruiting skills came in handy when she went to work for a corporation that had 15 different companies. Laura recruited and staffed each company before she moved to Lansing, Michigan.
Cardinal Fundamentals
Co-workers, candidates, and clients all know that Laura works hard every day. As a result, Laura doesn’t seem to know the definition of “break time”. So, you can find Laura on the phone before hours, as well as after hours, just to make sure her daily ‘to-do’ list is completed. Jason, the Sr. Sales Manager for the Lansing branch office said, “From the time she walks in the door, Laura is taking care of our clients and candidates! She is the epitome of the Cardinal fundamentals!”
Returning Calls – A commitment to excellence
Jason, also said, “I have a saying when I go out and sell our services. ‘If we don’t call you back within an hour, something is wrong!’ I say that to new clients because I KNOW IN MY HEART it is the truth! Laura inspires and leads by example each day and always ready to help others.
Personal Time, Family & Friends Time
Laura and her husband Jeramie enjoy taking weekend trips to northern Michigan to visit family and friends back home. She is excited about Jeramie’s daughter Maddi graduating from Grand Valley State University at the end of this year. Laura can be found at home curled up reading a good book or watching a good movie. Outside she is all about the bon-fires and concerts! Did I hear anyone say, “S’mores pretty please?”
